Imagine Outdoors was created by Matt and Gemma in 2019. They met whilst working at an Outdoor education centre in 2011 and between them have many years of experience working in various outdoor roles.
Matt started working in the outdoors at the age of 17 and has several years experience helping children and adults access the outdoors through watersports and outdoor pursuits. He has done everything from teaching toddlers how to cook a marshmallow to leading 14 expeditions for teenagers in the Australian Outback.
Gemma has a passion for environmental education and conservation. Having spent several years teaching alternative education to young people with SEND and social, emotional and mental health needs, she has always found the outdoors to be an incredible tool in learning.
Together Matt and Gemma created Imagine Outdoors to help people across Cornwall access the wonderful green and blue spaces in fun and creative ways. Since 2019 they, along with their team of freelancers, have been working with schools, home education groups and parents to provide a range of outdoor activities to meet all needs. Their main aim is to spread joy, wellbeing and empower people to explore the natural environment.
In 2023 they created Imagine Outdoors Together Community Interest Company. This social enterprise means that Imagine Outdoors can really focus on the needs of society. Allowing them to work collaboratively with other organisations and create more opportunity for everybody across the community.
